Eco Travel

I'm afraid I have to confess...I have another vice. I am not a true eco warrior....in this case more a princess. Nothing makes me happier than exploring our beautiful world.  The only problem is my means of travel.  My sea legs aren't strong enough to cover the distances I'd like to travel.  My works often requires me to fly to another country and back in 24 hours. My carbon output is pretty darn terrible. However,  I am tackling my carbon footprint. There are many ways you can do this and plenty of companies that offer Carbon Offsetting. I use the Clear Standards Carbon Tracker app to calculate my trips emissions. You can buy carbon offset credits but I prefer to give directly to NGO's I have visited.

 Guilt aside...there are so many wonderful NGOs (non governmental organisations) that would love you to visit and volunteer.  There are eco lodges and hotels to be stayed at, fabulous guilt free 'stay-cations' to be visited and new exciting places to explore.  The Eco Travel section reviews and recommends places to go for the eco conscious and calculates the emissions and carbon offsetting credits needed to neutralize your trip.
